Corporations, Partnerships, Firms and Fictitious Names
The State of Nevada, Division of Insurance (Division) continuously updates the Web site with new regulatory information such as bulletins, changes to licensed insurers and examination reports. Additionally, Division’s publications and press releases are regularly updated with new information that is important to Nevada insurance consumers.
The Nevada Division of Insurance will gradually be offering all license applications in an online format. For those license types that are not currently available as an online application the application may be printed and completed. The Division anticipates that in the near future it will have its forms available in a pdf format with fillable fields which can be filled in and then printed.
The following corporations and partnerships in the insurance business in Nevada MAY be licensed by this office:
- Limited Liability Company
- Limited Partnerships
- Sole Proprietorships
Nevada’s insurance statutes require that insurance companies and insurance agents be licensed before transacting business in the state. The statutes authorize the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance to charge a licensing fee to cover the cost to the state for administering this licensing function as well as fees for other administrative functions.
Organization Documents: Corporations, Limited Liability Companies, Limited Liability Partnerships and Associations may visit the Nevada Secretary of State’s Online Business Center for information on starting a business in this state. You may also utilize the online Name Availability search tool to assist you in determining if the name you intend to use is available for use in this state. Nevada Business Search
