FEBRUARY 6, 2013 - Nevada Division of Insurance recovered $3,998,508 for Nevadans in 2012

Carson City, Nev. – Nevada policy holders recovered $3,998,508 from insurance companies due to Nevada Division of Insurance assistance in 2012.

A recovery is the amount of monetary compensation or relief received by a consumer as a result of a filed consumer complaint against an insurance company.

“Nevadans deserve to receive all the benefits they are entitled from their insurance policies,” said Insurance Commissioner Scott J. Kipper. “The Division’s mission is to provide the utmost in consumer assistance. I could not be more proud of our consumer services staff. Their hard work literally pays off for Nevadans.”

Consumers in Nevada with questions or complaints about the following insurance products are urged to contact the Division:

  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance and annuities
  • Homeowner’s insurance
  • Renter’s insurance
  • Auto insurance
  • Motorcycle insurance
  • Boat insurance
  • Credit insurance
  • Extended warranties for home appliances, consumer electronics and vehicles
  • Surety bonds
  • Business insurance
  • Title insurance
  • Bail bonds
