JUNE 6, 2012 - Insurance Commissioner Kipper to host town hall meetings in Eastern Nevada

CARSON CITY – Insurance Commissioner Scott J. Kipper will be visiting the communities of Winnemucca, Elko and Ely to host local town hall meetings. These informative town hall meetings will provide the opportunity for citizens of Nevada’s rural communities to learn about the services offered by the Nevada Division of Insurance (NV DOI).

Commissioner Kipper and the NV DOI staff will be speaking about the wide range of insurance issues that affect Nevadans in their everyday lives. Topics will include homeowner’s and renter’s insurance; health insurance; and how health care reform is affecting Nevadans today.

There will also be a question and answer session where the public will be able to ask Commissioner Kipper and the NV DOI staff any questions they may have about insurance.

Winnemucca
Time: Monday, June 11, 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Humboldt County Library, 85 East Fifth Street (please park on side streets)

Elko
Time: Monday, June 11, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Elko County Library, 720 Court Street

Ely
Time: Tuesday, June 12, 3:30 – 5 p.m.
Location: White Pine County Library, 950 Campton Street

The NV DOI is the Nevada state agency that protects the rights of Nevada consumers and ensures the financial solvency of insurers. In 2011 it investigated nearly 2,000 consumer complaints and recovered a record $6.7 million on behalf of consumers.
