Bail Bulletins & Other Guidance
The Division issues bulletins to provide guidance as to how the Division applies Nevada’s bail laws. This helps bail licensees understand the laws regulating the business of bail. Below is a link to the bail bulletins that have been issued by the Division:
- Bulletin 18-002: Collateral in Connection with a Bail Transaction (June 12, 2018)
- Bulletin 18-003: Collections & Charges in Connection with a Bail Transaction (June 12, 2018)
- Bulletin 18-004: Notice of Withdrawal of Bulletins 13-006, 11-006, and 97-002 (June 13, 2018)
- Bulletin 19-002: Early Surrender of Defendant Form
The Attorney General’s Office may publish opinions that provide legal interpretations about laws. Attorney General Opinions (“AGOs”) are persuasive authority, and may provide additional insight into the way the Division interprets Nevada’s bail laws. AGOs offer guidance and are not law.
