FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE– October 6, 2016
Approved 2017 Health
Insurance Rates are Now Available Online
CARSON CITY, NV – Nevadans who
purchase health insurance on their own or as a small business can now view
prices for the approved 2017 health insurance plans online by visiting healthrates.doi.nv.gov.
The Nevada Division of Insurance
has posted approved 2017 rates for all plans in the Individual and Small group
markets online, giving Nevada’s consumers an opportunity to begin shopping for
a health insurance policy before Open Enrollment begins on November 1, 2016.
“We encourage Nevada consumers to
take the time to compare all of the plans applicable to them in order to get
the best plan for themselves and their families,” said Insurance Commissioner
Barbara Richardson. “Even consumers who already have health insurance coverage should
compare plans because there are always new products being offered on and off
the Exchange.”
In plan year 2017 there are 16
insurance companies offering plans on and off the Exchange. Consumers will have
124 separate plan options to choose from in the individual market and employers
can select from nearly 400 small group plans.
On November 1, 2016, the Division
will be posting the policy forms for each individual and small group plan. These
will include the Schedule of Benefits and Evidence of Coverage, as well as links
to the drug formulary and the medical provider network.
To view the rates and plan
information, visit www.doi.nv.gov, click on Health
Insurance Rates in the main navigation menu. From the “Health Insurance Rate
Review” page, click on “Search for Health Insurance Rates.”
Rates are displayed by age and
county, and are for non-smokers. The search results are displayed and then
sortable by plan name, carrier name, metal tier, and whether it is offered on
or off the Exchange. This allows the search to be limited for quicker focused
results.
