Property and Casualty
The Property and Casualty (P&C) Section’s primary duty is to review and approve (or disapprove) rate and form filings from the State’s admitted property and casualty insurers. Rate filings are reviewed to ensure they are adequate, not excessive, and not unfairly discriminatory; form filings are reviewed to ensure compliance with Nevada’s statutes and regulations, as well as disclosure and marketing standards. Construction liability insurance, homeowners’ insurance, medical professional liability (malpractice) insurance, private passenger automobile insurance, fully-insured workers’ compensation insurance and title insurance are some of the products that the P&C section reviews.
