Certified Reinsurer 

Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Code, Chapter 681A and in accordance with adopted NAIC Credit for Reinsurance Model Law #785 and Regulation #786, reinsurers seeking to apply for certified reinsurer status in Nevada must submit the following application documents to the Nevada Division of Insurance in electronic form via email to the attention of:

Finances@doi.nv.gov

To apply to become a Certified Reinsurer in the State of Nevada, please choose which application will be filed with the Nevada Division of Insurance based on the explanation below, complete and submit the below Certified Reinsurer Checklist and application forms:

FULL APPLICATION AS A “LEAD STATE”:

*Reinsurers not previously certified within a NAIC accredited jurisdiction seeking Certified Reinsurer Status in Nevada.

PASSPORTING APPLICATION:

*Reinsurers seeking Certified Reinsurer Status in Nevada currently certified within a NAIC accredited jurisdiction that has been reviewed by the NAIC Reinsurance Financial Analysis (E) Working Group (ReFAWG).

LIST OF PENDING APPLICATIONS:

Per Adopted Regulation R079-16, The Commissioner shall maintain a list of Pending Applications available for public comment. All public comments should be directed in writing, to the following:

LISTING OF QUALIFIED JURISDICTIONS:

Per NRS 681A.1553, The Commissioner shall create and publish a list of qualified jurisdictions, pursuant to which an assuming insurer licensed and domiciled in such jurisdiction is eligible to be considered for certification by the Commissioner as a certified reinsurer.  (7 Countries as of January 1, 2017)
