Motor Vehicle Damage Appraiser

Requirements:

A MVDA license is required for any individual or business entity that appraises damages of motor vehicles insured under a physical damage policy or on behalf of a third-party claimant.

  • Bond of $2,500.00
  • Business location – cannot be a virtual office or mail stop.

Application:

  1. Payment of application fees [check made out to “Nevada Division of Insurance” for paper applications, EFT Form for emailed applications]:
    1. Individual – $185.00
    2. Business – $235.00
     
  2. Paper Application – Indicate “MVDA” on the first page.
    1. Individual: Ind General Application
    2. Business: Firm General Application
     
  3. Surety Bond of $2,500 (required for both business and individual, cannot be shared)  
  4. If applicable, include supporting court documents or a personal statement for any background questions answered “Yes”:
    • Personal statement
    • Charging/Sentencing Documents
    • Final Disposition/Resolution Documents
    • Compliance Documents / Judgment of Conviction

License Renewal:

Renew online at https://www.sircon.com/nevada. Triennial renewal fee $185.00 for individuals and $235.00 for firms - Due the last day of the month which is 3 years after the month in which the license was issued. Late renewals are accepted within a 30-days grace period after expiration with an additional $62.50 late fee. No reinstatements after the grace period; an application for a new license is required.
