Qualifications & Fees: Bail Enforcement Agent
A Bail Enforcement Agent is a
qualified individual who is contracted to enforce the terms and conditions of a
defendant’s release from custody on bail in a criminal proceeding.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully entitled to work in the US
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proof of Required Training
- Pass Nevada State Bail Exam - through Pearson Vue
Required Training:
- Proof of completion of 80 hour training course. You may search for approved courses at Sircon.com. Online Resources Page
- Submit proof of completion of a course of training required by a municipal, state or Federal Law Enforcement Agency or a Branch of the Armed Forces to carry out the duties of a peace officer or POST Certificate
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
Initial Application Required Documents:
- Completed Fingerprint Background Waiver. The Fingerprint Background Waiver gives the Division legal authority to review your background report. Without the background waiver, your application cannot be fully reviewed or approved. To complete the background waiver, enter “Nevada Division of Insurance” in paragraphs 1 and 9, initial and date the bottom of page 1, and enter your name, date and signature on the bottom of page 2. Leave all of the agency information blank. Here is a sample background waiver
- Fingerprint confirmation receipt showing the Transaction Control Number (TCN)
- Controlled Substance Exam
- Local
Law Enforcement Printout / Scope Report
* This is a letter from your county-of-residence law enforcement agency which
indicates you have not been convicted of a felony; offenses of moral turpitude;
or the unlawful use, sale or possession of a controlled substance - Provide results of an examination conducted by a Psychiatrist or Psychologist licensed to practice in Nevada
** All required documents must be uploaded and attached to your online application in Sircon.

How To Renew:
A Bail Enforcement Agent license is valid for three years and expires on the last day of the month three years after issuance. Licenses must be renewed on Sircon.com, and the renewal fee is $185. If the license is not renewed by the expiration date, a late fee will be applied and the licensee will be able to pay the renewal fee plus the late fee for 30 days after the expiration date. Failure to renew by 30 days after the expiration date will result in the license being inactivated and the licensee will need to reapply. To renew, licensees must:
- Ensure the three hours of continuing education are complete
- Submit the renewal application online at Sircon.com
- Pay the $185 renewal fee
- Attach
Local Law Enforcement/Scope Report

have one licensed Bail Enforcement Agent to be affiliated to your agency.

Temporary Bail Enforcement Agent
All of the application and qualification requirements referenced-above must be met with the exception of the 80 hour training.
The Temporary Bail Enforcement Agent license is valid for 9 months or until the individual to who it is issued completes the training required under the Bail Enforcement Agent requirements, whichever occurs first.
This license is a one-time-only license and MAY NOT BE RENEWED.
